I got notice recently that my painting  Staggerwing Reflections has been selected for exhibition in the Sixteenth CAE SimuFlite Horizons of Flight Aviation Art Exhibition which runs from January 31, 2011 through April 29, 2011. The exhibit is at the CAE SimuFlite Training Centre at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. I am honored to be included in the upcoming show since in the past it has included the works of aviation art’s best such as: Keith Ferris, James Dietz, Nicolas Trudgian and more.

I’ve gotten it framed and ready to ship out. Now I just wish I could go and see the exhibit!

Staggerwing Reflections

"Staggerwing Reflections" by Pati O'Neal

World famous Kailua landmark, Kalapawai Market, at the entrance to Kailua Beach Park is depicted in this painting. It has been around since 1932.  The original painting has been sold and is brightening up a breakfast nook on the East Coast, but it is still one of my favorites. It brings back memories of my childhood when we used to stop there often on our way to and from Lanikai. Today, I still stop in for their great coffee in the morning and their delicious sandwiches.

Kalapawai Afternoon - Pati O'Neal

Here is my newest oil painting.  “Kailua Beach Park Morning” is 24″ high and 36″ wide. This painting depicts the scene of Pu’u Konahuanui reflected in the calm waters of Kaelepulu Stream as it dissects world-famous Kailua Beach park on a clear October morning.

Here are a couple of small encaustic pieces that I did for the Matchbox Plus Show at the Cedar Street Galleries.

They will be on exhibit there until December 5, 2010.

They are both 2  6″x6″ panels mounted on a cradled board.

The first is titled “Glacier”

This one is titled “Whitewash”
